Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a sixth grade teacher who is strongly trying to create a love of reading in my students. My class is a great group of kids who come to school every day despite the fact that a lot of them do not have support or guidance at home from a loving environment. My kids are all wonderful people who are eager to learn. I feel creating a love of reading in my students, at this point in their lives, will basically be a gift that they will have for the rest of their lives.

My Project

The books I am hoping to receive will really make a difference in my classroom as they will provide my kids with books on their many different levels that they actually want to read. My student reading levels span across many grades, so it is difficult to provide books on their many different levels. Providing the kids with current book series will help motivate my kids to read a great deal more which will in turn help increase their love for reading and their reading ability. My students have actually requested certain books, so I hope to be able to provide them.
