This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a School Librarian, promoting a lifelong love of reading is a priority for me. A Book Club is a great way to create a fun environment and to read and discuss books. Every school year, students in 3rd - 5th grade have the opportunity to join, and the excitement is through the roof!

A Book Club should be fun and rewarding for students!

I am requesting copies of the novel Odder, which will be the second book that we read for the school year. My students were super excited to find out that one of their favorite authors, Katherine Applegate had a new book with a cute little otter on the cover. They are very intrigued because I told them it is beautifully written in verse. Literacy is essential to a child's development and I look forward to encouraging children to become lifelong readers and learners. I appreciate your consideration with a donation for these books, bookmarks, and cute plush otter.
