Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing, creative, brilliant middle schoolers! I teach an English class that supports a diverse group of language learners. We are exploring language through hands-on projects, authentic literature, and plenty of thoughtful discussions.

We are creating a warm space to welcome students into the middle school classroom after a year and a half of online school.

My Project

As we roll into the spring semester, our book cafe is ready to expand with more great fiction. My classroom avidly reads graphic novels and I would love to bring more of these into their reading rotation with fresh picks.

I am also building reading comprehension with classic children's literature and delightful new tales in which our kiddos can sink their teeth.

We are excited to build out a tasty new book menu for readers and offer an expanded reading menu. Books offer kids a chance to slip into a different world and experience new ideas, concepts and emotions. In a world of such uncertainty, books offer kids a space to adventure.
