My Project

Our first graders are going bonkers for a fun loving and mischievous pig named Mercy Watson. This series would be the perfect addition to our classroom library since so many students are able to read this level of book at this time of the school year.

Our students have just begun to focus on character development such as describing characters and telling about their feelings.

There is no better mentor text for character development than Mercy Watson! Students find all the adventures that Mercy takes them on to be very entertaining.

I like that my students are self motivated to read more from this series. This love for reading is what makes lifelong readers.
