This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to read and they connect with the characters as they read. They enjoy character plush dolls ("reading buddies") that they can read too. I would like to get character plush dolls to encourage reading and expand student reading. Students be to read when they can read with a reading buddy.

A book buddy provides students the opportunity to practice their reading fluency out loud without the pressure of another classmate listening.

Reading buddies would be a game changer for my new readers! They help develop confidence in reading and deepen their comprehension and recall. All the items listed are those character plushes my students recognize and love.
