My Students

My students amaze me every single day. Each day these students make a decision to push themselves and do better than the day before.

Each day is a blessing in my classroom as I spend time with my students helping them to become the best learners that they can be.

As they learn and grow, they become more interested in everything around them and how the world works. Their passion and desire to learn inspires me each day to be a better teacher.

My Project

My kindergartners love to read! They need an individual reading nook that lets their friends know they can't be interrupted. Book Boats make independent reading fun and exciting while providing an individual space for each student. Each bin is equipped with a pillow and the student sits in the bin to read their book. Half of the lid is cut out allowing the student a place to put the book and any other supplies needed to respond to their reading such as drawing their favorite part of the story they read. This concept also allows a space for students to Respond to Reading!

Reading and writing go together like peanut butter and jelly so providing a space for this is extra important.

My students crave a space to continue their growth in reading and writing. Book Boats provide an individualized, stimulus friendly way to provide my students with their much needed personal space for Independent Reading!
