Book Bins to Help Kindergarten Stay Healthy and Organized

Help me give my students book bins that will allow them to have their own set of books to read throughout the day that will help slow the spread of germs.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school in Michigan. My energetic kindergarten students enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore. They are full of curiosity and excitement.

My students love to read books, draw pictures, build structures, and compare, sort, and pretend play throughout the day.

They light up as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds. They love to learn and use their imaginations.

With COVID and safety protocols, I want to make sure my students have opportunities to learn with hands-on experiences. Hands-on learning is an integral part of learning at this age. I want to make this school experience one that my students love and want to always learn and explore.

My Project

My students love to read and ask often to read the books in our class library. I would like to provide each student with a book bin that will allow them to have their own set of books they can pull out and read at any time. The book bins will allow students to enjoy reading without worrying about germs that they may be sharing with each other.

I love reading and want my students to have the same love for books as I do.

Reading allows my students to connect with experiences and introduces ideas and worlds that they might not know about. These book bins will allow my students to grow their love for reading and connect with books without connecting with the germs from sharing books.

I am also requesting construction paper that allows my students to create projects that represent them. I want to provide materials my students can identify with.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
