Book Binding Machine: Help My Adapted Books Last

Help me give my students adapted and engaging books that will be preserved and bound for years!

My Students

My students with special needs show great enthusiasm for reading and visuals. I look for many ways to incorporate them each day. I will be teaching adorable five and six year old students who live on Long Island, NY and read on varied levels.

My students tend to gravitate to the adapted books that I download and print-- these books are simple, repetitive, and feature themes and pictures that relate to my student's everyday lives.

There are opportunities for learning new concepts, vocabulary, following directions, and fostering independence by using these adapted books.

I love working with my students. My students are always inspiring me. I am always thinking of ways I can improve myself and our classroom to meet their individual needs and goals.

My Project

In order to preserve these books for multiple uses, our class would benefit greatly from a book binding machine and spines to bind the books. The adapted books my students are currently reading are held together by binder rings. Everyday handling leaves the pages ripped through, or lost. A book binding machine would secure my books with a strong bind allowing students to handle whenever they would like and as much as they would like. We will also be able to add more adapted books books to our library.

Your help will ensure that my students have access to hands-on, motivating, relevant reading materials at their level.
