Help me give my students their own Boogie Board to assess understanding and keep them actively engaged during lessons. The board eliminates the need for white boards and markers; write and erase with the push of a button.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Our community is in a low socioeconomic area. We are a Title I school where all students receive free lunch.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning.
I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of learners that are excited and ready to learn this year!
My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. My students come to the rug with whiteboards for guided practice. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to fall apart, and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use. By having LCD tablets, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. They simply write and erase with the push of a button.
