Thanks to the full funding provided by the All State Foundation, my students were able to take the lead in planning and organizing a meaningful project to support the animals and caretakers who work so hard every day.\r\n\r\nThroughout the project, my students worked collaboratively to create a detailed shopping list, develop a budget, and write thoughtful cards of appreciation recognizing the dedication of the Humane Society's volunteers and animal caretakers. This process gave students the opportunity to practice real-world skills such as planning, budgeting, teamwork, and community engagement.\r\n\r\nMy students were also fortunate to expand the reach of this project through an additional $250 donation from WEA. By pairing this contribution with the support from the All State Foundation, my students were able to significantly increase the number of supplies they donated.\r\n\r\nAs a result, my students are delivering a wide range of much-needed items, including bags of cat and dog food, blankets, food bowls, treats, cat and dog toys, and other caretaking supplies that will directly support the animals in the Humane Society's care.\r\n\r\nThis experience has been incredibly meaningful for my students. They were able to see firsthand how generosity and community partnerships can create a real and positive impact. At the end of each lesson, students use their phonics kits to practice their spelling words. \r\n Students have been very responsible with their kits by making sure all the magnetic tiles are back in their place.
