Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Never did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over yet!
My students and I have launched on the distance learning trek!
We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate two times a week in Teams meetings to go over new material, and to check in with each other. In addition, I continue to learn new material by attending professional development workshops to enhance their online learning. I am astonished by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.
My Project
Please help me give my students a couple of Chromebooks for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in Rio Hondo. My students need the opportunity to be able to complete their math activities needed to acquire math fluency.
The Chromebooks would give my students the ability to be able to complete their math assignments needed to gain grade level skills.
Chromebooks are needed to ensure students are able to practice various math skills on programs such as STEMscopes, ST Math, Khan Academy, and Prodigy.
These students, with the Chromebooks they receive from this project, will utilize online lessons and Teams meetings. Students love technology, and what better way to help them learn than computers at home.
