My Students

My students are learning to read and these books will give them the opportunity to practice their newly acquired reading abilities.

My students face many challenges.

Some are students with special needs, some are new immigrants and nearly all face economic challenges. My school faces many challenges in these tough economic times such as larger class size and not enough funding. In spite of these challenges the staff, students, and families are committed to doing their best and overcoming all these challenges.

My Project

I am requesting Bob book sets for guided reading groups. These books will give my students the opportunity to work in small groups with myself and other students with a copy of their own book. They will gain confidence and practice using their newly acquired decoding skills. They will be able to take these books home to their parents to practice and to "show off" their reading skills. When a child learns to read they grow as a learner and their confidence soars.

Reading is an essential skill that all students need to be successful.

My kindergarten students enjoy the challenge of learning to read and have acquired a love of books. With your donation you are opening up the world of books to these students.
