Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Have you ever woke up and been like "Yes, I can't wait to go to work today?" That is me every day as I truly enjoy my students and the positive engagement that we have throughout the day. My students adore school and enjoy coming every day.

We find new adventures daily in our story time and in our focus on life lessons, such as with failing forward (it is okay to mess up as long as you keep trying).

My students are lively and energetic; they come from a community that craves attention, and my goal as a teacher and human is to love them through my teaching abilities, kindness, and compassion.

My Project

My students will benefit from the Bob books as the Bob collection focuses on beginning reading through word families and sight words. The fundamentals of reading are necessary for K-grade children.

It is vital to offer this type of quality reading material to kindergartners as they are just now transitioning from being read to by adults to reading to others.

The majority of my class does not have reading materials at home, and what we do have in class is out of date or damaged. My hope is to provide them with books that are on their level, challenging, and also engaging.
