My students will benefit from a variety of donations such as the Bob books and writing utensils to name a few. The Bob collection focuses on beginning reading through word families and sight words. The fundamentals of reading are necessary for K-grade children. It is vital to offer this type of quality reading material to kindergartners as they are just now transitioning from being read to by adults to reading to others. The majority of my class does not have reading materials at home, and what we do have in class is out of date or damaged. My hope is to provide them with books that are on their level, challenging, and also engaging.
