My Students

My 3rd graders are some of the friendliest, loving and hard-working students you'd ever meet!

Our school is located in a large urban city, many of our students live below the poverty line.

In our class we focus on growing a love for learning and creating a supportive classroom environment.

My students are curious about many topics and look forward to reading in order to become experts on those topics. They love using technology! This is their first year using a Smartboard and they are having a blast!

My Project

It has become a tradition at our school that the Third Graders create a Black Wax Museum to celebrate their Black culture and heroes. Each student will research their hero, write a two minute first person speech, create a display board to stand next to while they dress as their hero and present their memorized speech. The students will use the materials in order to create their display boards. These sturdy trifold boards and borders help the students to take pride in their work. It gives low income students the ability to access the same materials as their peers.
