Board Games for Building Skills

Help me give my students a wide variety of board games to play in my AVID classroom.

My Project

I am hoping to purchase a wide variety of board games to use in my AVID classroom. AVID supports students who will be the first in their families to attend college. We do this through reading, writing, inquiry, collaboration, and organization.

All of these college-readiness skills can be practiced and enhanced through board games that target specific skills!

For example, in Spyfall, students learn to inquire by asking questions. In Zeus on the Loose, students practice mathematics, and so on.

Students in my classroom love playing board games and they enhance the sense of "family" we've built. Not only will students get to build skills, but they will get to enhance cooperative learning and enjoy themselves while they're at it!
