Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, resilient, and preparing for an important transition to middle school. As a teacher at a Title I school, I want them to leave elementary school not only academically prepared, but also confident in who they are and what they are capable of becoming.

This project is designed to refresh our classroom for spring in a way that brings learning, growth, and confidence together.

I want our space to reflect the season of growth we are in both in nature and in my students. The bee bulletin board borders, nameplates, and cutouts will help transform our room into a bright, organized, and engaging environment where students feel proud of their space. The math posters, multiplication charts, and multiplication chart stickers will ensure that key academic skills are always visible and accessible, giving students constant support as they build confidence in math.

A major focus of this project is a hands-on gardening learning experience. The flower bags for bouquets and decorative floral materials will support student-created garden projects. They will explore responsibility, patience, and a growth mindset. Gardening will give students something meaningful to care for and take pride in as they watch their learning grow over time.

I am also including a Keurig Chill Coffee Maker to create a small, teacher-supported reward space near our garden area. Students will be able to enjoy tea in a calm, structured setting after meeting academic goals or demonstrating positive behavior, building community. A full-length mirror will be used for daily affirmations, helping students build confidence and self-belief as they prepare for middle school. Items like Welch’s Fruit Snacks, fidget keychains, and classroom rewards materials support focus, regulation, and positive reinforcement. Every resource supports one goal: helping students leave elementary school with knowledge, confidence, pride, and belief in their future.
