Blood, Hair, and Soil, Oh My! Forensic Science Prepared Slides

Help me give my students slide sets for Forensic Science! We create our own slides with materials gathered from students/teachers but having a set of professional prepared slides will make a huge diffference in the understanding and engagement.

My Students

My forensic science students are unique because they choose to be in an elective science due to interest. This course gives them the opportunity to further explore their interest that was frequently developed through crime shows and documentaries.

My biology students are interested and curious about the world around them and seem to strongly miss the classroom interaction and environment.

My Project

The forensic science students explore many materials through a microscope. While most samples are collected by students or gathered by the teacher during the school year, we do not have a professionally prepared slide set to use as a reference point of comparison.

Students will use these slide sets to examine different aspects of forensic science trace evidence and compare hair, skin, soil, plant, and other substances with samples taken from the staged crime scenes.

It is imperative that the students have access to high quality prepared slides to use in conjunction with their collected samples.

These slides will also have a secondary application to biology where they will allow students to explore the microscopic world around them.
