My Students

My thirty 5th grade students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They are hard working and show a thirst for knowledge that I love seeing at our school. So many of my students are quick learners who are then looking to further their knowledge in math and science by doing extended learning activities. It's hard to keep up with them!

By incorporating hands-on activities into our daily learning, my students are becoming professional problem solvers!

I know that they will be the future leaders of our fabulous country and I want to provide them with the best learning experiences that I can.

My Project

These wonderful science materials will enrich my students experiments. They will be able to see, smell and touch states of matter! They will be able to build atoms and play games to help with their knowledge of 5th grade science. I love to see students eyes go wide when they are able to do an experiment, with pop rocks and balloons for instance, and can see an actual chemical or physical change. The books on matter and games will go so far in enriching their learning of the 5th Grade Science Core.

My students will also use the legos to build on their Math knowledge!

They will be able to work with fact families and increase their abilities with fractions. The best way to gain deeper understanding is to blend book learning with hands on learning.
