My Project

This year, I am starting a band program from scratch at my new school. The school currently has no instrument inventory and no music library. The school administration has been very supportive of renting instruments for every student that we will own in two to three years, but I wanted to supply a band music library without them so they can focus on purchasing instruments.

My goal in building the library is to stock it full of both classics and new modern pieces featuring an array of diverse composers that match the diversity of my students.

Black History Month is February and I wanted to have projects that highlighted Black composers. My first project to do so is Quincy Hilliard.
