Black History Month Power Reading Celebration

Help me give my students an exciting opportunity to learn more about their history via reading.

My Project

It's Black History Month! I believe these books will inspire and enhance our print-rich classroom that my students help me to create. My classroom library is filled with several genres but would add a special touch for the historical genre and inspire my students to enjoy and to learn more about their history and how it has inspired and influence people around the world. Reading will boost self esteem and their confidence. Most of my students are interested in learning about their history. These books have been chosen with my students in mind and the many questions they've asked me regarding their history, hopefully by reading most of their questions and curiosity will be answered. I know these books whether if it's in their hands or if they are listening to a book online, would begin the pathway for them as an independent life long reader.

My students will be able to learn thus allowing them to read independently, become inspired, build up their confidence, self-esteem.

These books will engage them to want to read independently and help my students learn through reading. Reading will provide them with the opportunity to not only grow as a strong reader but will help them enrich their experience via reading and to learn about their past, present and future.
