This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I see the many challenges my students face both in and out of the classroom. As a teacher in a school with a large population of bilingual learners, I strive to connect all students through the universal language of dance.

This project will provide dance costumes for students for their Black History Month Celebration performance.

In this project, I am asking for dance costume pants so that my students can perform in the school's Black History Month Celebration this February! My students have been working very hard on their dance performance that celebrates the Black Dance Legends they are learning about such as Misty Copland and Alvin Aliey. By donating to this project you will help students have the ability to celebrate Black History Month through dance!

As a school with a very diverse population we have worked hard providing them a culturally responsive arts education. I have been working with all of my students to provide them with a space to create, express and explore their personal interests and identities. By donating to this project you are helping our school continue to provide the best arts educations for our students!
