My Project

I have a group of fun-loving and eager to learn 2nd graders in a school with limited resources. My students look forward to a warm and welcoming environment in the classroom with various learning opportunities. While some have challenging situations, they come to school excited about the day

They enjoy learning opportunities that are relevant and meaningful and those in which they can make real-world connections.

Learning is paramount in my classroom and my students have come to own this expectation as one of their own. They truly make teaching a pleasure and they hold me accountable for being an effective teacher. They're extremely inquisitive and they enjoy thinking outside of the box.

These art materials will go beyond using pencils and crayons. Students will study the work of a prominent Black artist and, using the medium of their choice, create a work of their own inspired by that artist. Students will be able to paint, sculpt, create collages or use photography. After completing their work, students will showcase their work to students in school, explaining how their art best reflects their life. Thank you for helping us make this come to life!
