Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the library at my school, I want all students to feel represented and valued. During Black History Month (February), we read about black history and learn about important figures from the past and present. We research black history and integrate it into our reading lessons, and we aim to make our library one that celebrates and recognizes black history year round. Additionally, Lunar New Year is coming up, and many of my students celebrate this wonderful holiday! I want to give all students a "gift of reading" with red envelopes and transform our library into a Lunar New Year celebration for Year of the Dragon! Thank you for helping me create a library that is representative of our students.
