This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am humbly asking you to help me provide my First-Graders with some books and resources so they may see that Black History is not just for February. I always strive to foster an environment of love, respect, and acceptance for all, and that starts by teaching them about our History. Also, these art supplies will help provide them with opportunities for creativity and self-expression. My students have really enjoyed learning about Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, and Ruby Bridges in January, and I would love to extend this opportunity throughout the entire year using these wonderful books and art supplies.
