Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's February, and that means a country wide focus on educating students about Black American History. My students deserve the opportunity to learn about their history. Students have requested more Black history signs and posters around the school and my classroom to represent African American achievements. Help me update my classroom to have more Black History Month books for students to learn more about Black history and culture. I want to make sure students can understand the depth and breadth of Black culture from ancient times to the present.

Help my students learn more about Black History all year long with books, posters, and representative art.

I aim to have enough Black History books so that ALL of my students can learn about the achievements of Black Americans all year long. Having an extensive selection of Black fiction and non-fiction, graphic novels, and biographies helps to entice even the most reluctant readers. A wobbly chair helps calm students who have a hard time sitting still and reading. I plan to put up the big posters to decorate the hallway for Black History Month, and the smaller posters to keep up in my classroom all year long. Thank you for contributing to the education of my students who all deserve to see their faces and backgrounds represented.
