My Project

My students are all so special but the students in my school have limited experience with African American students.

I want my students to learn and understand the important contributions of African Americans throughout history.

I want them to understand that all people are equal, no matter their skin color. These books like Brown Boy Joy and materials like the Pose Play dolls will give them knowledge and understanding about people that look different than them but are still very important to the world.

I want them to understand that as they go out into the world they will see people that look a little different than they do but that it's okay and on the inside everyone is the same and should be treated the same.
