My Project
We are ENL, Dual Language, and Special Education teachers from a Title 1 Low Income Middle School who understand that access to nutritious snacks and drinks like juices, waters, and multigrain snacks directly impacts our students' learning abilities. Proper nutrition is essential for cognitive functions, including concentration, memory, and problem-solving. For many of our students, especially those from lower-income backgrounds or adjusting to a new country, school might be where they receive their most reliable source of nutrition. By providing healthy snacks and breakfast options, we ensure that every student starts their day right, fully able to engage and absorb information in class.
Our primary goal is to create a nurturing environment where every student, regardless of their background or abilities, feels valued and supported.
We aim to foster a sense of community and belonging through our multicultural festival, making it a vibrant platform for students and their families to learn, share, and celebrate diversity. By integrating resources, education on laws, and opportunities into this event, we also aim to empower our students and their families with knowledge that can significantly impact their lives.
We strive to address and diminish the gaps in educational equity by providing our English Language Learners and students with disabilities the resources they need to succeed academically and socially.
Our students are uniquely remarkable for their resilience, diversity, and the rich cultural perspectives they bring into our classrooms. Many of them have faced significant challenges at a young age, from navigating a new education system, language barriers, to adapting to a new culture. Despite these hurdles, they show incredible strength, adaptability, and eagerness to learn and contribute. Through this project, we aim to celebrate and nurture these qualities, ensuring our students feel supported both academically and personally.
