Birds Families We Can See!

Help me give my students these two bird houses on poles so that they may learn about these amazing creatures from just outside the classroom window!

My Project

In my library, we have huge windows looking out to our campus greenspace courtyard. Students stand at the windows throughout the day watching the birds, insects, and other animals in their natural habitats.

Imagine wonder on the faces of my jaded high school students as they watch bird families build nests, lay eggs, and hatch eggs in the new birdhouses placed outside our library windows for viewing!

Many, many students never experience nature as they live in their city apartment homes and far away from rural areas where nature abounds. With this grant, I would like to give them that experience from the library window and around the school courtyard. I have requested 2 birdhouses with mounting poles and squirrel funnels to protect them. Both birdhouses will be placed where they can be easily observed from the library windows. With your help, we can bring nature to them. I am excited! Thanks for considering this grant!
