This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 120 young minds every day who come to school eager to learn. They are still learning to love biology, but they come to school each day ready to learn and experience new things in the subject. They are goofy, smart, and talented. The school they attend, that I teach at, is underfunded, and I truly believe they deserve more than what they are being given at this moment in time.
I'm hoping that with DonorsChoose I can give my students a biology experience that is out of this world and will leave them with a life long love of biology and science.
My Project
One thing that I'm trying to put more of in my classroom is FUN! Science, biology in particular, is all about using your hands to manipulate variables. An easy way to do this is with crafts!
There are so many cool projects that I would love to do with my students that I'm not capable of doing to the best of my ability right now because I don't have the resources.
I'm often scraping my money together and running to the dollar store to find what I can. With even just simple craft supplies like these, kids will remember what they did in their 10th-grade biology class years from now!
