Every lesson, my students listen intently and do their work, but the only Check For Understanding I'm able to do is by students raising their hands, and that only gets me a few student answers. There are so many others that I never know for sure if they understand the material until the homework assignment, and by that time a wrong answer is effecting their grade. If the Check For Understanding were anonymous, I would have better data on what students do and don't understand, so my lessons would be able to be tailored better to my students. I want my students to know that I am here to help by making CFUs less grade-centered and more anonymous, so that they can get the help they need in class so that they can have better understanding of their out-of-class assignments.
