Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am always trying to stay up on the latest bok trends with my students. I followed the Diary of a Wimpy kid phase, buying the box set. They have burled through the "My Weird School" series, practicially considering the characters their family. And now, biographies are a hit! My students have discovered the "Little People, Big Dreams" book series that highlights the movers and shakers in literacy, sciene, music, sports, and humanities, just to name a few.

My favorite thing about these books is that the vocabulary is 4th and 5th grade level, but not overwhelmingly difficult to comprehend.

Adding these books to my classroom library would allow me to push my students into more complex text, while peaking their interest in informationl text.
