They have used the Legos during math centers to practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. The Rekenrek tools have been used to practice skip counting, subtraction, and addition. During STEM time they have used the Legos, magnetic tiles, and building blocks to build 3D designs and collaborative projects. These hands-on-tools have helped my scholars stay engaged and work together.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to keep using these materials in small groups and during projects to continue to encourage creativity and practice higher-level skills. When the materials arrived, my students were thrilled and immediately eager to use them. In December, we used the colorful beads to create pattern bracelets while learning ABAB patterns. This fun activity helped strengthen their understanding of patterns while also building fine-motor skills. Seeing their excitement in their creations made the learning experience even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic dry-erase trays are now a daily part of our literacy routine. Students use them to practice letter formation and to build and write their names, which has boosted their confidence and engagement during literacy centers. The sheet protectors have allowed us to reuse worksheets as students trace numbers, letters, and names, giving them extra practice in a hands-on and stress-free way.\r\n\r\nDuring STEM time, students use the PicassoTiles to design robots and build creative structures, encouraging problem-solving, collaboration, and imagination. The everyday heroes figurines are often included in their buildings, helping students create stories and make real-world connections. These materials have transformed our classroom into an engaging learning environment where students are excited to explore, build, and grow.
