Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The creation of the Bilingual Mother's Day Greeting Cards is with the purpose of having the students investigate their own and other cultures and how people celebrate Mother's Day. The Spanish students will make a 3-D visual presentation (greeting card) in which they will be able to communicate through writing a poem expressing their feelings about their mother figure.
The main goal for this project is for the students to investigate and then make comparisons about the practices of celebrating Mother's Day in their own culture and others cultures where Spanish is spoken.
The art items and tools will facilitate the creation of the greeting cards for each of the student's mother figures. Each student is special in the way that they each have its own way of expressing their feelings about their families and how their cultural background's traditions influences the way they show respect and honor their mother figures.
