Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 4 and 5-year-olds who are just beginning their educational careers as bilingual learners. My students motivate me every day to be creative, observant, genuine, and determined. Most of all, they motivate me to be the best teacher I can be. This is why I want to provide them with the tools to be able to develop their potential as independent and critical learners.
My school is located in an inner city, and it takes pride in providing our diverse group of students with a dual language education in both English and Spanish.
I want my students to become independent and to try to do things on their own. My students are wonderful little people who are ready to conquer anything! Our motto: "Always work hard, be humble, kind and thoughtful of others."
My Project
As educators of bilingual learners, we are in need of creating most of our classroom materials and games. I will use the color ink cartridges to print in vibrant colors new bilingual games and cards for our students to use during centers.
Technology is a great tool for learning languages, by having the 5 bilingual Smooth Touch Smartphones for kids available in the classroom for our students to use, it will make some activities motivational and fun.
The hear myself sound phone is a tool students can use to hear their own voices when they are learning the sound of letters in both languages. Nowadays, that we are all using masks in the classroom, having these tools would make it easier for students and more engaging. The Ikea Green Leaf Lova Kid Bed Canopy would be a great addition to our calm down corner to make it cozier.
