This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our media center, we're bringing in bilingual books because we believe they're like magic keys to a bigger, brighter world for our kids. Imagine a little one flipping through a story in both Spanish and English – it's not just about learning words, it's about opening doors to new ways of thinking and understanding. These books are more than just learning tools; they're little bridges connecting our young readers to diverse cultures and experiences. By mixing Spanish and English on our shelves, we're not just sparking a love for reading – we're helping nurture kind-hearted, open-minded individuals. It's about giving every child a chance to see the world through someone else's words, creating a space where everyone feels included and valued. That's the kind of magic we're aiming for in our media center.

These books will be integrated into literacy stations and accessible through technology, ensuring that every child can connect with these tales in a way that resonates with them, whether they're in a group setting or exploring independently.
