Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Some of the bilingual students in my classroom are newcomers learning to navigate parenthood, a new language, and a new culture. I envision that these books and puppets will help our classroom to navigate the English Language at home and at school, for both parents and children.
Through helping them learn to read to their children, young adult students will also develop their oral reading skills.
Students can tell stories and read to their young, creating a bridge between school and home that will lead to increased engagement and increased reading fluency.
