My Students
I have an amazing group of students from all backgrounds. My class is very diverse culturally and academically. They are a great bunch of kids with a great sense of humor and amazing abilities.
We live in a small farming community where everyone knows each other and helps each other.
We have many ESL students here who need extra support and many of the students are from low-income households.
My Project
Many students have suffered some set backs on their reading fluency and accuracy since COVID-19 hit and we were sent to remote learning for several months.
Research has shown that DYAD reading helps improve fluency and accuracy in readers.
In order to effectively carry this out in my classroom, I'd like to be able to provide a wide range of books for students to choose from.
Research has also shown an increase in fluency and accuracy in students who listen to a fluent reader while following along. I'd like to accomplish this by providing a way for my students to listen to audio books and check out a physical copy of the book as well.
