Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For the first time, my students face the excitement and challenges of being in school. Their ages range from 3-5. Most of them come from a very low income families. Some of them have experienced trauma---the trauma of poverty, some of them the trauma of abuse, the trauma of having a loved one in jail, and some, the trauma of just wondering where they are gonna sleep that night.
I am committed to meet the inner needs of these children, by loving on them and facilitating a safe environment so they can achieve social-emotional and academic success.
This is why I encourage donors to join our efforts to make school a fun and safe place for my students, who have the potential to succeed in life, but just need some caring and loving people to guide them, believe in them, and give them the support they need in their early years of life.
My Project
The Big LEGO Soft Blocks will enhance the concepts learned in class, like tall and short. They will build towers, castles, bridges and all what their mind can create while improving their fine and gross motor skills. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Pre-Kinder children need to play in order to develop their curiosity, the Soft LEGOS will be in our block center.
The LEGOS will help them develop their engineering and science skills while they play safe.
We will need good hearted donors that help us get these LEGO set through our door and make our daily center time engaging and fun.
