Help me give my students high-interest Junie B. Jones chapter books to spark excitement for reading and help them grow into confident, independent readers during our small group time.

My Project

My first grade students come to school each day eager to learn, grow, and discover the joy of reading. As a Title I school, many of my students have limited access to books at home, making it even more important that we provide rich, engaging reading experiences in the classroom.

I am requesting a class set of the beloved Junie B.

Jones series chapter books to use during our small group instruction time. These books are perfect for beginning readers who are transitioning from picture books to chapter books. With their humor, relatable characters, and manageable text, Junie B. helps build confidence and excitement in young readers.

During small group instruction, students will read, discuss, and respond to the stories together. These books will help strengthen important literacy skills such as:

Reading fluency

Comprehension

Vocabulary development

Retelling and sequencing events

Most importantly, these stories make kids laugh—and when students enjoy reading, they are more motivated to practice and grow!

Your support will put high-interest books directly into the hands of my students, helping them develop a lifelong love of reading. For many of my students, this may be the first chapter book they feel confident reading independently.
