My Project

Phonics and phonemic awareness are the first components to the Science of Reading Approach. When students are able to decode words, they show improvement across all content areas.

The materials for this project will be used to reinforce phonics skills in a fun, hands-on, and engaging way.

I am requesting these hands-on, multisensory learning activities to improve fluency with decoding, which will improve reading and spelling. Other materials, such as bins and stools, will be used to support the organization of small group materials and set up. The wiki sticks, pencil grips, sand, and bins will be used in a small group instructional setting and will provide individual instructional support according to the specific phonics skill needed to learn. These resources will make learning fun!
