Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I have the incredible opportunity to serve as a founding first-grade teacher at a brand-new public charter school in North Carolina. As we open our doors for the very first time, we are building our classroom from the ground up.

My goal is to create a welcoming, engaging, and organized learning environment where every child feels safe, excited, and ready to learn.

The classroom supplies in this project—from hands-on learning materials and organizational tools to pencils, markers, and crayons—will help students actively participate in lessons, stay focused, and develop confidence as they build foundational reading, writing, and math skills. These resources will be used every day to encourage collaboration, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences.

Every item in this project will help create a classroom where students can learn, explore, and thrive. My goal is to ensure that every child has access to the tools they need to be successful, regardless of their background. First graders are naturally curious, energetic, and eager to discover the world around them. They learn best through hands-on experiences, interactive activities, and a classroom that sparks joy and creativity. By providing these essential supplies, you'll be helping create an environment where students feel inspired to ask questions, take risks, and grow into confident learners.
