My Project

My students are innovative, driven, and collaborative high schoolers who form the backbone of the Covington High School robotics team. Managing three distinct competition robots requires a relentless work ethic and immense technical coordination. My students do not just build machines; they learn complex engineering, programming, project management, and teamwork. They spend hours outside of normal school hours designing, testing, and iterating to make sure their creations are tournament-ready. They thrive when given the tools to organize their workspace, protect their safety, and showcase their hard work to the community.

Building a robot is only half the battle; succeeding at a high-stakes robotics competition requires an organized, safe, and well-fueled team.

As our competition season kicks into high gear, our team is requesting a suite of behind-the-scenes essentials to stay safe, focused, and professional.

Mechanical reliability relies on small parts; robust zip ties and accent-colored rubber bands will serve as crucial fasteners to secure wiring, components, and mechanisms on our three active competition builds.

Beyond the mechanical, presentation and team pride matter immensely. A high-quality banner stand and a fresh plotter paper roll will empower students to print large-scale signs, design engineering graphics, and display our team's branding and supportive community sponsors proudly in the tournament pits. Finally, maintaining our workspace is a team effort. A reliable shop vac will allow students to quickly clear away metal shavings and plastic debris, keeping our lab clean and functional. To sustain our long weekend work sessions, a stock of bulk snacks will provide the necessary brain fuel to keep energy and focus high. Your support will give these dedicated students the practical workspace essentials they need to truly shine!
