Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are happy to be at school and eager to learn! After being online for over a year, they are excited to be back! I can tell when they come in the door every morning that they are ready to learn new things.

They are a diverse group with curious minds.

My students come from a diadvantaged neighborhood and often do not get to experience many things that we may take for granted.

My Project

My students students spent over a year learning online. During this time, they have missed out on many aspects of physical education.

During the pandemic, they didn't have the opportunity to work together in team sports and group physical activities.

Now that we are back to school in person, we are enjoying being outside together! We have played the basic PE games like "Sharks and Minnows" and kickball, but now we are ready to dig in and learn some more specific skills!

With these new scooters, inflatables, and other materials, we will not only be able to practice team building skills through sports that they always want to play but don't have the equipment for; but we will learn new skills and games as well. Help us build healthy, active leaders through team building!
