My Students

My students are a very clever and unique bunch. I work with three groups of students who are in grades Kindergarten through 6th in our Adventures at Home program. My students learn both on campus with me and continue to explore topics at home via online learning and other curriculum. While we have specific subjects that we explore in class, many of my students like to choose what they will delve into more deeply at home. In class they participate in a number of hands-on experiences, taking the time to break down each subject, discovering and really learning about it.

My students come to school not only ready to learn, but excited to find out what we will be studying.

They love learning about new topics and exploring the world around them with its rich history. They become really excited about the various units we are studying, loving to dig deeper into each subject. They ask lots of questions and like explore the topics further at home. They are very creative and good at thinking outside of the box. My students have a deep love and passion for learning!

My Project

During this pandemic we have come to greatly rely on technology to help us connect with our students on a daily basis. The capabilities of the technology that we have access to has become a large factor in the teaching that we can offer. With my current computer I have found that I am very limited in what I can do while using video conferencing and other platforms. While the video conferencing tools I have access to are great in allowing me to be able to share my screen with my students, I have discovered that I am not able to still see my students while sharing my screen. This limits my ability to interact with and engage my students. This computer will allow me to do both at the same time. Furthermore, it will also open up other many other options such as drawing on my screen and having the space to download and save additional teaching resources on my computer that will be more easily accessible during online learning. This computer will enable me to offer better learning experiences to my students to help them master the skills that they need to be successful.
