Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The band students on my campus work hard every day to improve in their band classes. Regardless of how hard they are working, sometimes their equipment holds them back from their full potential. The reality of band is that the quality of a student's instrument equipment can have a huge impact on their development and success on the instrument.

A quality ligature for young clarinetists and saxophonists allows them to reach their full potential in tone production, intonation, articulation, and musical expression.

Currently, my clarinetists and saxophonists are playing on "stock ligatures," the cheapest option that comes with the instrument. Often times, these ligatures aren't quite the correct size, break easily, and restrict the vibration of reeds.

My goal with this project is to provide my students with a quality ligature to use. While this project will impact 26 students this year, students for years to come will utilize these ligatures and benefit from this project. Another great benefit of these ligatures is they are hardy and don't break as easily as other ligatures. I'm excited to provide these wonderful ligatures to my students, thank you for your consideration!
