My Students

My yearbook students work diligently every year to produce a quality yearbook that chronicles the life of our high school. These students produce the yearbook without any funding from the school budget. While they are successful in selling ads and gaining support from local businesses to pay for the production costs of the book, we do not have much funding left over to purchase quality equipment to take the pictures required. We are a Title I school, and few of our students have their own cameras.

My Project

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, my students have adapted to learning in various ways in order to produce a quality yearbook. With the addition of a Canon Rebel T7 and a Canon Powershot, my students will have access to better equipment for documenting their historic years in high school for years to come. The yearbook staff will use these cameras to capture and document the student life and activities of our students and school as well as learn valuable journalistic skills that will make my yearbook students college and career-ready.
