Better Behavior Bins: Structured Activities That Promote Positive Social Skills

Help me give my students a structured behaviorally and social skills-themed task box station. These cubbies will hold 10 task bins each, totaling 20 task bins that I can use for students of all ages.

My Students

My students with special needs receive Psychological Services which include behavior support, social skills, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). My students' special education settings range from inclusion, resource, and the community-based classroom. They also range in disability, age from pre-k through 12th, and have a wide variety of abilities. We see the ABLE in disability.

Each week, I meet with my students in small groups, one-on-one, and their natural environment in the school setting to work on their specific behavior, social, or life skill goals on their IEP.

Depending on their need I see students once, twice, or multiple times a week.

My Project

These Better Behavior Bins will be inclusive for my special needs students which will be able to complete whether they have verbal or non-verbal communication. These bins will have file folder activities insides them that each will have a different social skill inside.

I am so excited that my students will have developmentally appropriate materials chosen for the functional level!

Using these tasks bins will increase the learning and opportunity to expose my students to more social skills during our time together. So many students are in need of more social skills teaching.
