My Students

I have one of the best groups of students to be found anywhere. I sponsor the Senior Beta Club at our high school, and our members really try to live up to the club tenants of honesty, integrity, leadership, scholarship, and service. These students span grades 9-12, and they support one another through thick and thin.

This year, we have 35 students who are competing at the state level in academic, collaborative STEM and artistic competitions.

These are truly amazing kids who inspire me everyday with their dedication and creativity.

My Project

Going to the Virginia State Senior Beta Convention is both a challenge and a treat for our club members. While absolutely deserving of the opportunity, some of our members are not able to afford the expense of attending convention. For some, this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel and meet Betas from other regions of the state.

Our Senior Beta Club students will take part in motivational sessions, academic tests, visual arts competitions, group STEM tasks, leadership challenges and community service projects.

Not only do our students compete, but they also make friendships that last for many years.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
