My Project

I work in a high school in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Cleveland. My school serves teens from around the world as well as those who have grown up right here in Cleveland. They love their library! Thanks to donors from DonorsChoose I have an avid group of new readers. I also have many reluctant readers waiting for that next best book to turn them on to the love of reading. You can help me bring the love of reading to more students and boost the choices of my avid readers. I have selected titles from School Library Journal's Best of 2023 lists that I know will entice my students. Since my students are primarily reluctant readers and new language learners graphic novels and manga have been a huge hit and are a great entryway to the world of reading. I would love to refresh our collection with these new critically acclaimed titles to inspire my teens.
